Sage words!

This month's sagacious saying comes from my daughter Reina, Reina's quote is simple yet a powerful one. "Follow your dreams or you'll spend the rest of your life working for someone else who did!" Thank you, lovely daughter for sending this to me!

Earth Day!

Earth day was first celebrated on April 22nd 1970. It was the brainchild of Senator Gaylord Nelson from Wisconsin. Mainstream America remained oblivious to environmental concerns, the stage had been set for change by the publication of Rachel Carson's New York Times bestseller Silent Spring in 1962. On April 22nd, 20 million Americans took to the streets, parks, and auditoriums to demonstrate for a healthy, sustainable environment in massive coast-to-coast rallies. Thousands of colleges and universities organized protests against the deterioration of the environment. Groups that had been fighting against oil spills, polluting factories and power plants, raw sewage, toxic dumps, pesticides, freeways, the loss of wilderness, and the extinction of wildlife suddenly realized they shared common values. So, there you have it, the beginning of Earth day, to honor that please recycle today!

Your recycle tip.

Every time you recycle something you are contributing in an effortless way to help your environment. Every time you buy a product made from recycled materials you are helping to minimize loss of virgin materials. When you reuse something again and again you reduce the amount of raw materials used to make new things. Think about Earth day daily to make your environment habitable.

Your spring Feng Shui tip!

The weather is warmer, I think I am safe in saying winter is behind us?! It's time to open up your windows to let in fresh air into your home. It's time to deep clean your home, so that you can get rid of stagnant winter energy. Clean your windows so that you can see the opportunities coming your way! There you have it, not one, but three great tips!

Ruminations!

I was flying from Oklahoma to Oregon to visit my son and his family, grand baby Nina is an amazing magnet for me! As our airplane took off from Dallas, we climbed up through dense clouds and then, all of a sudden beyond the clouds the sun rays came streaming in through the windows of the airplane. It was a surreal feeling, we were above the clouds, the blue sky, very much in attendance and the sun ever present. It made me think of how so often we bemoan the absence of the sun, yet the sun is always there, it is just obscured by the cloud cover. That is a metaphor for daily life, the sun is always present giving life sustaining energy sometimes it's difficult to know that it's there due to the clouds! Please send me your observations about life, I love to hear back from you!

April showers.
